This course is an introduction to the Aga Khan Foundation’s Inclusive Learning Environment Guide. The course will introduce you to the Guide and will help you to deepen your knowledge and skills in creating an inclusive learning environment. It will also allow you to reflect on your teaching practices and integrate some new strategies into your classrooms.
The Guide intends to help teachers and educators to identify: a) how best to build positive student-teacher relationships; and b) how best use instructional strategies and assessment to support the development of 21st century growth mindset skills and pluralistic values and attitudes.
The course will give you the opportunity to observe a series real-life classroom environments from Kenya, Pakistan and Portugal, and to reflect upon them by using the Guide as a tool.
This course is the first in a series of three courses in the Inclusive Learning Environment Courses Series. The two courses that follow are Development Dialogues in Education and Leading an Inclusive Learning Environment Workshop.
