The Windows and Doors Carpentry course builds on the General Carpentry course and aims to help young carpenters improve their lives and preserve ancient crafts. Learners deepen their knowledge on safety and security in carpentry and learn how to identify different types of wood used in making windows and doors. They learn and practice how to make different types of windows and doors, how to recognise different kinds of accessories for windows and doors, and how to install windows and doors.
By the end of this course, learners are able to read and understand “cutting lists” for windows and doors and to use different cutting techniques to reduce waste in raw materials and to cut wood faster. They also have the opportunity to learn about assemblies for doors and windows and to practice applying them.
